NW Drift

MIDI-Altering Randomness

NW Drift interface

NW Drift is a free, minimalist MIDI-altering VST3 plugin that applies randomness and variation to MIDI notes in real-time.

This plugin doesnt make sound by itself. Instead, it accepts MIDI input from your DAW and outputs altered MIDI notes. These can then be routed to any third-party VST plugin.

It lets you randomize the octave, interval, velocity, timing and muting of each incoming MIDI note, which creates fun, dynamic and unpredictable musical sequences.

It also has a handy Mix slider that increases or decreases the effect of all current active knobs.

There is no full version, Drift ships free, forever.

Installation

  1. Copy & paste NW Drift.vst3 from the ZIP-file to your VST3 folder.
  2. Launch your DAW and rescan VST3 plugins.
  3. Route MIDI into NW Drift, and out of NW Drift into your third party plugin through MIDI ports.
  4. Have fun.
